How to Connect & Use Zoho SMTP (Step-by-Step)

Use Zoho Mail as your sender for campaigns, workflows, and transactional emails.

✅ Prerequisites

  •

A Zoho Mail mailbox on your domain (domain verified in Zoho).

  •

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) enabled in Zoho.

  •

An App Password for SMTP (generated in your Zoho account).

1) Generate a Zoho App Password

  1.

Sign in to Zoho (same account as your mailbox).

  2.

Go to Account/Security → App Passwords (or Security → Application-specific Passwords).

  3.

Click Generate, name it (e.g., “SMTP”), and copy the password.

Keep this safe—you’ll paste it as the SMTP password in our platform.

2) Add Zoho SMTP in the Platform

  1.

Go to Settings → SMTP → Add SMTP.

  2.

    Fill the form:

    •

      SMTP Host (choose your region):

      •

        Global/US: smtp.zoho.com

      •

        India: smtp.zoho.in

      •

        EU: smtp.zoho.eu

    •

      Port & Encryption (pick one):

      •

        465 with SSL/TLS, or

      •

        587 with STARTTLS

    •

Username: Your full Zoho email (e.g., support@yourdomain.com)

    •

Password: The Zoho App Password you generated

    •

      From name: Your brand/sender name

    •

From Email: Your Zoho mailbox (e.g., support@yourdomain.com)

🔧 Troubleshooting

Auth failed / login error

  •

Re-create and paste the correct Zoho App Password.

  •

    Ensure Username = full email.

Cannot connect to server

  •

Check the correct region host (.com / .in / .eu).

  •

Try alternate port: 465 (SSL) or 587 (STARTTLS).

  •

Ensure your network/firewall allows those ports.

“From Email” rejected

  •

The From Email must be the same Zoho mailbox you authenticated.

  •

Make sure the mailbox exists and domain is verified in Zoho.

Emails land in spam / low inboxing

  •

    Complete SPF/DKIM/DMARC in Zoho.

  •

Use a consistent From Name/Email, avoid spammy content, warm up volume.

Rate/limit issues

  •

Zoho enforces SMTP send limits based on your Zoho plan—spread sends over time.
